A long journey to the West Country that began from Upton Park at 8 a.m., cold and windy surroundings at Home Park, and the return trek that ended around midnight, was our Reserve Team's schedule on February 10. The gaining of a point was some consolation, and helped offset the experiences of a gruelling day.

Billy Lansdnwne was the scorer of our goal some two minutes after the kick-off, but Plymouth Argyle succeeded in levelling the count before half-time. The second-half proved scoreless, and in the circumstances 1-1 was a fair result.

A mid-week engagement at the Norwich City ground earned us a 2-2 draw. Both sides scored once in each half, Billy Jennings and Nicky Morgan netting our counters.

Our Reserves continued their recent triumphant run by defeating top-of-the-table Spurs 2-0 at Upton Park. This was their seventh win in eight games (the other being a nil-nil draw), during which time they conceded only one goal. Although unlikely to win the Combination championship, it is an encouraging hope for the future.

Six of the line-up against Spurs (and the sub) are in this season's youth squad, and two more are still eligible for the under-20's. Both goals against the North Londoners were netted in the second half ; Billy Lansdowne put us ahead and George Cowie completed the scoring.

The result in our away game against Orient on the afternoon of Tuesday 3 April was settled during the first minute of the match. Billy Lansdowne intercepted a back-pass, and although his first shot struck the 'keeper, he followed up to net the rebound. There were other chances to add to the lead, but a poor playing-surface did not help.

The first half of our match at Edgar Street last Saturday week was goalless, and Hereford United were playing very hard. However, the Hammers continued to show the better football, and netted three times after the interval. Nicky Morgan scored two of these (making him 14 to date), and the one between took Billy Jennings' total for the season up to 21
