The home side put up poor opposition for this fixture, and our XI had a comparatively easy time in winning by 2-0, having the points well in hand from start to finish. Tommy Southren scored our first after 20 minutes and Harry Williams added another with about 15 mnutes to go.

A goalless draw would have been a fair result to this interesting game, and it was an annoying climax when the Spurs scored the only goal following what appeared to be a deliberate "hands" by one of their players in midfield.
